I'm looking forward to returning here when I have more time. I only had time for a dirty chai (which was good) but when I discovered I could get cocktails here in the bar further back I was hooked.

They took the liberty of adding gratuity themselves. When I called to address this with them, they would not answer the phone and their voicemail was full. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank.

The place is decent, lovely art on the walls and a very loud and street hipster style. The limited menu of drinks and coffees at premium prices aren’t up to par with other local establishments. You pay for the experience of the atmosphere here.

Ample space behind the small storefront. The concept of bar and café seem to work well in a quiet atmosphere. We didn't try anything at the bar, but the coffee and service were great.

I went to dichotomy this morning before work as I work next door. Took a few minutes before they took my order took 10 minutes for my drink to be made even with no one in front of me and then before the barista makes my drink more people come in after me, mind you still not making my drink, takes their order starts making both, can’t remember what cup is what and makes me taste my latte bc he has no clue what is what???? They also touch the coffee grounds with their bare hands which is unusual to me.

I enjoy dichotomy, I’m going to continue going, I don’t mind waiting a while when there is a line, but that wasn’t the case. I write this review with hopeful change. Also $6.98 for a latte with syrup seems like a lot when most places around here are $5-5.50 for this. Please improve dichotomy, I like you!

highly professional bartender Mr. Chris serves an excellent old-fashioned. quite a stocked bar - with excellent craft drinks and house-made infused syrups, alcohols, and indivudual offerings...

The Chai Iced Latte was great! I love that it came in a mason jar and you have the option of a metal straw OR plastic (if you’re staying to enjoy)! The seating options are great and overall a great atmosphere.

This place is great! We came here during a pop up Christmas event. Atmosphere was fun and casual with lots of Christmas cheer! Drinks were well made. We loved the Jingle Balls Nog and Sno Ball Oldfashioned. Gingerbread Flip was good too.

I am having a roadtrip with my friends in Waco. This is our first stop and also the last stop. I like the decor. I wowed the moment when I opened the door. I also love my surprise me drink. The name is also very intriguing once you figure out why it is called Dichotomy.

As a Baylor student, I’ve had the pleasure of frequenting many coffee shops in Waco, but Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits stands out as a jewel among them. This unique spot, nestled on Austin Avenue, blends modern and vintage vibes to create an atmosphere that is both calming and inviting, perfect for studying or unwinding after a long day.

The espresso here is unparalleled in Waco, striking the perfect balance between acidity and bitterness, offering full flavor without overwhelming strength. Their signature drinks, like the butterscotch latte and the lavender oat milk latte, are a testament to their innovative approach to coffee. The butterscotch latte, rich yet smoothly balanced, and the lavender oat milk latte, with its unique flavor profile, have become my personal favorites.

What truly sets Dichotomy apart, however, is its commitment to the local community. The furnishings, including tables made by local artisans and outdoor tops of pink marble from Waco’s central library, showcase their dedication to local goods and artists.

My wife takes the credit for this one. She said “Dicotomy is a vibe” so we went and mannnnnn was she right. I can study like a college student then drink like an adult if I want! The whole coffee shop is huge and even had a rooftop area.

As you walk in you’ll notice you’ll hit the coffee bar first and then past that is the bar and more seating areas. Toward the back are the restrooms.

I order a mocha which isn’t usually what I get but It tasted good. The service was attentive and the employees very friendly as I walked in.

Pro tip* if you hungry and want a full meal… across the street is a taco truck called Sergio’s… if they are open go and eat there.*
