Always 5-stars. Great tomato soup. Loved how clean this place is especially the bathrooms...delicious fruit cake plus staff. Full bakery. Come for lunch.

The cheesecake!! Yummm! Cool historic looking atmosphere. Only 4 locations anywhere, this one is my favorite.

I stopped in for lunch. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this place and wanted to give it a try. Upon arrival I noticed in the parking lot they have over 20 Tesla charging stations for your vehicle, which is nice if you have an electric vehicle. When you first enter The facility there’s a sign that tells you kind of how things should go browse around the store. Find some things that you like and bring them all to the table. They have the bakery goods, cookies, brownies, pies, you name it if it could be baked they have it. I got two sandwiches to try the deviled egg sandwich which was amazing little messy but great and I also purchased the caprese sandwich that was delicious bread was a little thick on that one not my favorite. I really wanted to try the Call St., Sandwich but they were out of turkey for today so I imagine it is a popular demand. Sandwich got to get here early. All in all great food everything‘s fresh bread soft plenty of bakery goods to take home even cheesecakes wrapped up so you can make it home from two hours away. The sitting and dining area is very casual comfortable plenty of places to sit and chat and hang out. I think I forgot to mention they also serve coffees and different types of coffee and if you come here and they’re closed, they conveniently have a vending machine right on the outside of the building with a few select goods that you can pick up. If you’re passing through or you live here in town, you better stop check it out.

Inside the building is extremely gorgeous and extravagant! Service was very good and helpful. Samples of the fruitcakes were so amazing that I had to take 3 or 4 of each 😅

Ugh. I called and reserved a cheesecake to pick up. I expected it to be fresh because it’s a bakery, but needless to say they are frozen and prepackaged. Was going to serve it at my husbands birthday party, but I’m too embarrassed now. Looked so horrible when I took it out that I should have just went to Sam’s club. Not to mention this small cheesecake was $30. I want my money back

The bakery was founded in 1896 by August Wiederman, Lee William "L. W." McNutt, Sr. (1895-1972), Harry Cook, and Bob Rutherford purchased the bakery in 1946 from August Wiederman. The classic English style building at Waco looks beautiful and the bakery has got enough space to sit and have coffee and delicious pastries 🥮. They have enough car parking.

Nice place while waiting for a Tesla charge. The bakery could do a bit more to make what they serve stand out. They have a few items that are really good, cinnamon roll and sandwiches but the rest of the bakery is meh, just ok. Very much edible and no need to look further for a quick bite.

Everything is spectacular, an observation for the manager, the bathrooms are also important in a place where everything has a very delicious aroma. The boys' bathroom just stank.

July 2024I stopped here to pickup a regular flavor mini Fruit Cake for my dad. He loved them and I do too. I order some other pastries for myself to take home. The fruit cake was really good and usually eat it very slowly where it never goes bad. The pastries were good too. The place itself looks really southern and always very clean. There was plenty of parking and seating. It's a great place to stop on traveling through Waco.

An unexpected lunch stop while we charge the Tesla. There are LOTS of food and baked goods options. It would have been nice to have at least one vegan baked good though. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to those. I ordered the veggie sandwich as a wrap. It was nice to have some vegetables before getting back on the road. However, the wrap is mostly greens. It would have been nice to have more vegetables.

Collin Street Bakery has been a stop for me for many years. They have a wide variety of sweets, as well as food. The chicken salad sandwich has never let me down once, and the pantries are always excellent. The staff is always nice and the restaurant and bathroom are always clean. If you are passing through Waco, this is a stop that won't disappoint.
