Jake's Texas Tea House doesn't serve traditional hot or iced teas like you may think. No, Jake's Texas Tea House is a step back in time to the good ol' days. At Jake's, you'll find vintage signs on the walls, old cars as decorations, and vinyl booths and stools that exude nostalgia. The menu features American food and Southern classics that will make you think they are from your grandma's kitchen. Jake's is great for a laid back date will delicious food and fun retro vibes.

We really enjoyed the beautiful decor inside, the cars were so cool! The food was super delicious, in particular that salad was to die for. We are still talking about how yummy it was. We had the pleasure of meeting Jake and he was the nicest gentleman ever. Thanks for the great service and your kindness.

Food was great and so was the atmosphere. The only thing I would say is to put the banana pudding into the fridge when not being used. It was great but it was extremely warm, borderline hot and it made it a lot less enjoyable. I’m sure it’s because of the top cake layer that’s on it but if it were me I would let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 mins before serving it. But everything else was great! Service was okay, maybe saw our server twice and waiting a while to pay out, but it was nothing outrageous, just need to be a little more tentative to the tables.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch while in Waco for the weekend. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The Texas cheese steak is to die for! The wait is not long when you're enjoying the scenery and all the memorabilia! Great service too!

Never go there on a Sunday! First off, it was so hot in the restaurant that I got nauseous and almost threw up in the bathroom. Secondly, we were a group of 8, so we had to wait 20 minutes (which I can understand), however, instead of sitting us at the large table, they split us into 2 tables back to back so we couldn't talk to the rest of the people in our group. It took 20 minutes before the waitress came and took our drink order, then another 20 before she came and took our food order. We then waited an hour for our food, which was really disappointing. *side note - I do not eat a lot of food and was not hungry because I was nauseous from the heat and they would not let me order off the child's menu, which I have been able do to at this restaurant before** The "caesar" salad was given to us with ranch, not caesar dressing. And we were uninformed the food would come out family style - and our waitress did not bring us plates to serve the sides on, we had to ask another waitress for them. Finally, when we were finished eating, we were informed we were not allowed to take our sides home because people were asking for free refills - just don't offer free refills then.... Very disappointed that we had to fight to take home food that we paid for. Food was not worth the price that we paid and waitress seemed to not know what she was doing.

Super cute place with all of the old automobile decor. Amazing service. I was not blown away at the food it was OK but nothing to write hone about. Husband loved the real Root Beer Float.

A bit of a wait but so well worth it. Our server told us they were short staffed but indeed did her absolute best and made sure we never needed to top our drinks off, made sure our meals were to our liking and did it all with a bright sincere and pleasant smile. Well enjoy this restaurant, the food, the fabulous eye candy set up and the incredible dessert.Highly recommended if you travel through Waco. You won’t be disappointed.

I've visited a few local restaurants in Waco, and all of them were really good, I went here for lunch to see if I could keep up that streak, and this restaurant surely didn't break it.Food⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Me and my parents got rather basic meals, but even then, they were all really good. I recommend trying their more interesting foods though, I'm sure those are even better. I got the BLT, my mom got the regular burger, and my dad got a chicken sandwich, all came with a side of fries, for my meal I added some watermelon along with my side of fries as well. Everything tasted really fresh and was packed with flavor. The buns were toasted perfectly along with the meat, and the mayo and condiments were really good as well. My watermelon was pretty good too, I was expecting an average watermelon, but the freshness and the nice balance of sweetness and flavor made it a little extra special. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the fries. They were a little mushy but had a home style taste. I appreciated that it wasn't loaded with salt too, but I would've liked more seasoning on it. It's not enough to bring it down a star because I enjoyed it overall, including the meals. Definitely recommend the food.Service⭐⭐⭐⭐The waiters were nice and consistently checked up on us to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. It wasn't anything special, but it was great overall. The food came out pretty quickly, and we spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant, great service overall and there weren't any major problemsAtmosphere⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I think an atmosphere deserves five stars when it's not just good, but great, and special in a way. This place had so much old fashioned detail and there was a lot to look at while you sat down. Something else I thought was neat was that there were notes inside the crevices in the brick wall of the restaurant. They each had a message inside to read and was something I distracted myself with while I waited for my food. Another cool detail was that the food was served in hubcaps, you can't tell with my pictures, since it was covered in food and was shown on the bottom of the plate. Overall, really awesome atmosphere and it wasn't too cramped either.I was really satisfied with this place overall. The atmosphere and the food is what made this place stand out among the rest. I wanted to try their pies but ended up being too full. That's something else this place is known for apparently. Props to the owner for a great restaurant!

We went there on Sunday morning before lunch. Don't let the name fool you...... it's not a tea house. The food and atmosphere were great. Sundays menu is different than other days. It's served family style which means there's several main entree options and they all come with all the sides in small bowls and a table side prepared Cesar salad. We split a meal and couldn't finish it all. But left room for Key lime pie.

What a find! Never would have guessed we would find a place like this on our trip! I'm a car guy, atmosphere is 12 out of 10! I loved the "plates" are actually hub caps!! Food was delicious... They didn't have T-shirt in my size...more "are coming tomorrow". I will order one online!

Cute place to stop at while in Waco! Service was great, wait wasn’t too long, clean, and the food was fresh and hot. The kids loved their grilled cheeses :) the truffle fries were wonderful as well.
