The food is great and I loved their brunch/breakfast options. Our server was super nice and I love the downtown outdoor patio option. Interior decor is a little bit of a miss for me, but to each their own.

Holy smokes!! Finally something besides tex mex. This place is a smaller restaurant with big time flavor. They don't bring the moles necessarily, but from Tlayuda to their healthy large list of mescals, I can almost feel La ciudad de Oacaca!
Chips and salsa brings out a warm salsa with a bean dip that go together rather well.
First up the Esquite street corn. Served in a bowl, this is amazing! Corn of the cob with a really nice chipotle mayo along with the usual tajin and cotija cheese. Yums!
Anyone slightly curious on mescal, try the mescalita. It's citrus flavors blend well with the smokey mescal and at a fair price.
2nd up is the Poblano Steak dish. The pepper is huge! Melty cheese up in that stuffing with the steak underneath. I expected a much thinner piece of carne, but it was nice, tender with lovely spice. Asked medium, probably a little more, but not bad. With rice and beans, no tortilla, but would be nice.
All in all, best Mexican place I've had in Tejas.

I’ll start out by saying I’m a bit picky when it comes to Mexican food . I met some friends for lunch & we all ordered different meals & we all agreed it was really good. The portions were good, chips & salsa was great, best of all the flour tortillas were very good, which is hard to find. I will be going back as long as it doesn’t change.

For waco, this absolutely a 5*. Great for a casual chic date night or happy hour with friends. Was the only person there for lunch at 2pm on a Wednesday, yet the staff was keeping everything clean and presentable and the kitchen turned out everything fresh and made to order. The vibe is West Coast meets Mexico City. Heavily Frida Kahlo influenced.

Cocktails are well balanced and visually appealing.

Food dishes were scratch made, presentation was commendable, and lunch prices were reasonable.

Only thing to recommend is better plate 🍽️ and flatware 🍴 to fit the tasteful vibe.

PRO TIPS:

1. Happy hour 3-6pm mon-fri all apps half off and drink discounts
2. Every day theres a specialty cocktail thats half off
3. Try as much as possible. There was nothing I ordered that disappointed ( 2 apps, fajita lunch, a la carte taco, and a cocktail).

The steak aguachile was delicious. Pretty spicy if you can handle it. The Horchata was very refreshing. And their chips and salsa were amazing.

Excellent happy hour! Great vibes and loved all the plants/decor. Got 3 appetizers and 4 drinks for $50ish. Really recommend the Coco Pina Margarita, husband loved the Pepino Mojito, and our favorite app was the Sopecitos. Esquites and toastaditas (pictured) were decent but the Sopecitos is what I plan on ordering next time we are in Waco. Service was great even with a full house. We visited 6/27/24 around 5PM.

Food was delicious! I got the fajitas and a tequila sunrise. Only complaint would be the flies but we did choose to sit outside in the middle of summer in Texas (that’s our bad). Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. Definitely will be coming back!

Incredible authentic and delicious Mexican food. I strongly recommend the appetizer 'esquites' for anyone and everyone. The appetizer 'steak aguachile' I recommend the the adventurous into spice and bold flavor. They are both delicious!
The mezcal drink 'El Viejo' is heaven in a glass!
Ignore what others tell you, this is the best Mexican food in town

Our first time here. We went just before a concert at the Hippodrome (they share bathrooms). A small corner spot with a great selection at the bar and dinner menu. We had chicken enchiladas and chicken and beef combo fajitas. All were very tasty. There house salsa was really flavorful. Topped off with tres leches cake quick was really good. Staff was friendly and fast.
