We sat at our table for 30 minutes without service other than water. I told my husband it's my birthday and I don't want to wait any longer. So, we got up and left.

They definitely need to improve the timeliness of service. We had a reservation and had to wait nearly 10 minutes for the table. Took a while for a server to even come by. She was sweet and apologized for the delay ,however, we waited way too long for our food, including dessert. We even ordered our food at the same time as our appetizer to help make it quicker. We asked for the check when our desserts were finally coming out and we still waited far too long to pay so we could just finally leave! I looked around at this point noticing there were only 3 other tables left occupied in the whole restaurant. It was ridiculously slow service. Also, our steak skewers looked like they hadn't been grilled at once, as in, the steak was cooked, then placed on the skewer with the veggies. The veggies were severely undercooked or really just uncooked. No char on anything. When someone orders the meat at medium, you shouldn't be clearly serving it at rare. It's cut up, you can see it's obviously not cooked medium. I should have sent it back but I had waited long enough the first time. Seriously disappointed to spend so much money on poor execution.

This is a new review for the new location. I’m sad! That’s right! I am sad…. I’ve been to the new location a couple times, but only for happy hour. Today, November 6th 2024, we stopped in for the first time to eat dinner. I am sooo sad this is my first time for dinner!!
Food was amazing!!! Service was awesome too! I got the Wagyu tenderloin with the smashed potatoes and green beans! The wife got the grilled chicken with lemon butter caper sauce! Her sides were the asparagus and couscous for her sides. Daughter got the spaghetti and meatballs on the kids menu. All the food was amazing!
So good in fact, all three of us are SO SAD we haven’t ate here yet!! Shame on us!!! We live close and will definitely be back regularly!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for some time now so here it goes.
My favorites at Olaf’s are abundant! For starters, anytime they have the frenched rack of lamb in the kitchen it’s a no brainer! Simple the best lamb recipe ever and cooked to perfection! Even if you don’t like lamb.. or think you don’t like lamb, it’s a must try!

Appetizer, try the prosciutto wrapped asparagus! All the flat breads are great too.. the bbq chicken flatbread is my favorite but I enjoy them all.

My wife’s favorite at Olaf’s is the pan seared Norwegian salmon! She gets its pretty much every time we go! If you are in the mood for fish, I will agree, it’s a fine choice! The salmon is always perfectly cooked (which when it come to fish is so important) and sits on top of hatch chili grits! Super tasty!!

Olaf’s is also a great place for adult beverages.. good wine list.. bartender knows how to mix up anything you typically enjoy!
Atmosphere is always important and this place definitely sets the mood for a nice evening out! However, I’ve been known to show up by myself fairly casual and no one judges you but greets you with a smile! Great outside courtyard area where you can enjoy live music a lot of times.

Check them out.. the best evening out in Clifton hands down.. and if you want to get away from the blah while in Waco, it’s a beautiful drive and you will never regret it!

Olafs was wonderful. Theres not much more to say. The service was excellent. The food was better than excellent. The only thing I didn’t like was it was a bit loud. However, that likely was because the place was packed… and rightfully so!

This is our favorite restaurant in all of central Texas. We drive an hour to eat here because it is THAT GOOD. Extra bonus when you get Bailey as your waitress!

Wow. We went on the final night of the square location being open. The service was phenomenal and the food was just as amazing.

Thank you so much for catering to us and our dog, Penny. This place has us debating on uprooting our lives just to eat here again.

I was born and raised in Iowa (land of more pigs than people) and the pork chop was just as good, if not better, than the ones we got from the butcher back home. Thank you so much for the service and amazing food. We hope to be back.
