Indian Springs Park

It’s a simple memorial, but the meaning behind it carries weight. It honours local peace officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, a reminder of the risks behind a job most people only think about in passing. It was established through local law enforcement groups to make sure those names and sacrifices aren’t forgotten, and standing there, you feel that intention.

What stood out is how naturally it fits into the walk. You don’t have to go out of your way to find it, but once you do, it shifts the tone of the whole area. For us, it turned part of an afternoon walk into something more reflective, especially traveling as a family and trying to give our boys a deeper sense of the places we visit.

It’s not a destination on its own to most people, but it’s absolutely worth stopping when you’re already in the area. It adds meaning to the walk in a way that stays with you longer than expected.
