Pretty sub par experience. Check in was here is your key and no real descriptions of what the hotel was or what’s part of the hotel or not. The bed was absolutely horrible. I left at 10pm and because there is no front desk or anyone around you can complain or tell them. Had to email the generic info line and still nothing back from them. The walls to the hallway are super thin so if anyone is talking in the hallway, which is the first on hour of my stay, you can hear every word ( they were showing people rooms and describing the hotel - more than I got at check in). For 250+ a night I just can’t see how this is worth it for the terrible bed and thin walls for anyone trying to rest and work.

I normally don't post reviews, but there are times that things need to be communicated. I checked into Hotel Herringbone and was impressed with the service and dinner at the restaurant. My room was smaller than expected, but I overlooked that because of dinner and the service I received. I had a long day of travel so I crashed early (fell asleep around 9). I woke up very cold (around 2:30AM) and looked at the thermostat. At that time is was 59 degrees. I was unable to get it warmer until I took a shower and got it up to 60. See photo. A notice came across that the boiler heat was not working. Well I agree with that statement. My guess is that this room sas never to temperature, but I didn't notice it specifically when I checked in. Couldn't sleep so I tried to do some work. Very poor internet connection so I had to use the hotspot on my phone. Couldn't go back to sleep so I called down around 4:30AM to find out where their work out room was located. No work out facility at this location. My suggestion is that if you're traveling for business stay somewhere else and come here for dinner or a drink at the rooftop bar. In my opinion, I have not been impressed with the accommodations especially as a seasoned business traveler for over 25 years.

We just checked out of our two night stay in room 203. Courtney was exceptional and went above and beyond for us. The fact that you can text a number and within seconds get a response was hotel hospitality like I’ve never seen before. Upon arrival all dining on the property was closed due to weather but i was made aware of this the day before so it wasn’t an issue. So glad we got to experience Red Herring on night 2 because it was amazing. The roof top bar was still closed but that’s ok, everything else was up and running and it was amazing. The complimentary glass of wine was a fabulous treat and i loved the reusable water bottles, what a great gift. Our room was right next to the train tracks but they provided ear plugs and once asleep it never woke me or my husband up. I would 100% stay again and I’ll be spreading the word.

My husband and I dined at the restaurant this evening for supper. IT WAS AMAZING! It's rare for me to not take food home, but I didn't because every bite was better than the last. We had the roasted fish, cauliflower, potatoes and oysters... so, so good! It was worth every penny and our server Evelyn was very verse on the menu, giving us suggestions and was quickly able to explain the drink menu as well.

Just stayed 2 nights at Hotel Herringbone. It's a nice hotel in downtown Waco. It is next the the train tracks, but we only heard the train on one night. The elevator was out of order, but taking the stairs wasn't too bad. The Red Herring restaurant was outstanding, and the rooftop bar was very nice. They have a really nice courtyard with places to sit. We had a prime view of the Baylor Homecoming parade while we were there. I would return for a stay and definitely come back to the restaurant.

I'll start with the good and get to the areas that need some help. The location is nice. It is walking distance to the Silo's as well as many other places for shopping, food, drinks. Although I don't drink, we were offered a complimentary beverage at the upstairs bar.The room and grounds were all very clean. Bed was comfortable. We had a patio room (Room 204) and enjoyed the patio and bathtub.Check in was easy and quick. From there it goes downhill. This isn't a "cheap" hotel and charge premium prices. Due to that, there are some things that really need improvement. It was noted nowhere that the elevator is broken. For me and my husband, not a big deal but for anyone who cannot climb two or three flights of stairs this should absolutely be mentioned somewhere! This seems to have been an issue for months and it was mentioned nowhere during booking, or on their website. The train...again noise issues are not noted anywhere. It is RIGHT next to the train tracks. We were woken up twice in the very late evening/wee hours of the morning and it literally shakes the room. Also, there is a bar on the top level and we were told the DJ would be done at 11pm but the music didn't stop until almost 12:30am. Luckily we were just getting to bed but we are old and boring and usually like to be in bed by 10pm. The bass of the music was shaking the floor and we could hear everything. And we were on the 2nd floor so I can't imagine what's it's like for the 3rd floor rooms. Again, these types of things should be something a hotel honestly notes UPFRONT for people looking to book.I'd respect a place 10x more if they were just honest and upfront about any shortcomings that will be present. The coffee bar for breakfast...I went up to grab my husband a coffee about 9am. There was no fruit as stated, but no big deal. There were a couple Chobani yogurts in the small fridge on the counter, along with a carafe of milk and two carafes of orange juice. I grabbed the milk to use in the coffee and it felt empty. I unscrewed the lid and my nose wa assaulted by an overwhelming smell of sour milk. The small bit that was left at the bottom looked grey. My husband (who is super easy going and polite) took it to the lobby to let her know where he was met with an unenthusiastic receptionist. She took it and said she'd refill it. Before we checked out, we went back up there so I could fill up my water bottle. I saw the carafe back in the fridge, opened it again and....STILL sour. Not sure if bad milk was replaced with more bad milk or if it wasn't washed first before it was refilled but either well the smell was still disgusting. And I can only ever breath out of half my nose so my sense of smell isn't amazing. We were here in October and the room did not want cool down enough for us at night, despite it not being very hot outside (low was in the 50s) I can't imagine what it'd be like in the heat of the summer. We ended up having to open the patio door and entry door for a while (after the DJ upstairs stopped) to cool the room down. For the price they are charging, I do not think this is worth it at all.Despite the cleanliness and lovely design, the good just doesn't outweigh the bad here for how much it costs to book a room.Much room for improvement here and much room for honesty and transparency.

Concept on paper is interesting and unique but there is a lot of room for improvement….mainly there is a DJ that plays on top of your room until at least 11 pm at night, (seems like they should feel you this before check in) the night we stayed there, they didn’t stop until 11:25, and then they re arrange all the furniture on the rooftop bar until about 12:30, and then the train rolls through with an extra long horn at 1:30 am, so…..if you are planning on relaxing in your room or sleeping, you will not. I don’t imagine that many people paying upwards of $300 a night not on a game weekend will be game for this experience, in addition….there is very limited parking, only about 10 spots, otherwise you are searching for street parking and they expect you to return your keys and if you don’t, they charge you $5, and the elevator is broken especially challenging for anyone with mobility concerns, place isn’t for us, we won’t be back.

We went to the rooftop bar, and it was awesome. I highly recommend going here instead of the rooftop at 1928.

We were not there to stay in one of their rooms. We had a friend playing at their outside venue.

Enjoyed my recent one nite visit. Sure, the hotel is interesting in minimizing cooling/ heating “non-rev sq ftge” yet it works and flows for the visitor - after a bit.Check- in was tops. Room was nice. Key point— i purchased a non- refundable night and later figured out my timing error ( should have booked 1 nite later). Graciously, the reservation was honored for my intended night.Very nice touch.Room was nice . Only quibble is i never solved turning on the main lighting fixture. Likely ‘driver error’.Will return in future.

A Hidden Gem in Waco – Hotel HerringboneFrom the moment I stepped into Hotel Herringbone, it was clear that this is a place where luxury meets charm. Nestled in the heart of Waco, this boutique hotel offers an unforgettable experience that combines Southern hospitality with sophisticated art deco and 1970s design.Service: The staff at Hotel Herringbone truly set the standard for excellence. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, their professionalism and genuine friendliness made me feel right at home. Every request was met with a smile, and their local recommendations added a personal touch to my visit.Rooms: The rooms are nothing short of spectacular. Each space is beautifully appointed with modern amenities and a touch of elegance. The attention to detail in the decor is impressive, and the comfort of the bed ensured a restful night’s sleep. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the plush robes and high-quality toiletries.Amenities: The hotel boasts a range of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. The on-site restaurants red herring, songbird, and lucky bucks offers a delightful dining experience with a menu that highlights local flavors and fresh ingredients. The rooftop terrace is a perfect spot to unwind with a drink while enjoying stunning views of Waco. And the fitness center, equipped with top-of-the-line equipment, was a great addition for keeping up with my workout routine.Location: Hotel Herringbone’s location is ideal for exploring Waco. It’s conveniently situated near popular attractions, including the Magnolia Market and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, yet provides a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.Overall Experience: My stay at Hotel Herringbone was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of luxurious accommodations, top-notch service, and prime location makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting Waco. Whether you're here for a quick getaway or an extended stay, this hotel offers an experience that will exceed your expectations. I can’t wait to return!

We choose this hotel because it is next to the Dr. Pepper Museum which we wanted to visit during our weekend stay. The hotel lobby, patio and the room we chose were absolutely beautiful and clean. The guest coordinator at the lobby I believe her name was Courtney was very attentive and accommodating of all of our needs. When we arrived the room was even more beautiful in person and exactly like the pictures. We stayed during the weekend of July 20th and due to the summer heat obviously the room can take a moment to get cool specially since the hotel is made of shipping containers. Something that helps make the room cooler faster was closing the blinds which is a must to survive the Texas heat. The elevator was not properly working going up but it did work coming down, however we didn’t mind taking the stairs to the roof top bar and to our room since we drove for 3 hours and we really needed to stretch our legs. During the night we were suddenly awaken by a train passing, it lasted about 2 to 3 minutes so even when we were a bit startled we went right back to sleep. I hope they fix the issue with the elevator but other than that it was a lovely stay and highly recommend visiting their restaurant. You can tell that the area is growing and it has tons of potential.

We enjoyed our overnight stay we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The concept for the hotel is pretty neat but I can understand all the remarks about the train and noise from the bar but we only heard the train once at 5:30 in the evening and it wasn't bad. We loved the private front patio that came with our room and the design/decor was great only downside was the rooms did not cool to the temp we set it to so it always felt warm which made it difficult to sleep comfortably through the night. The bed was soft and comfy though. I would love to come back in the fall so the patio could be utilized.

Very satisfied overall with the stay. Really trendy and innovative design, well located in Waco, and very clean. Our room has a cute little view of the Magnolia Silos, which was a large reason for booking on the area I did. There were a few oddities for a hotel aiming for the level and price they are going for, but it's clear they are still finding their grove as a newly opened hotel. For example the water bottles they provide, really nice glass to match the quality they want and pair with the water bar, but provided unwashed with the paper saying they need washed in them making them useless on arrival. The rooms themselves were really nice and well designed, I feel bad that the painters missed the mark just a little for such otherwise quality work. The biggest issue with the rooms is that the door doesn't block sound at all. A non issue for early on with very few guests, but you can clearly hear what's going on in the hall way. I suspect the welcome drinks will improve (or hope) because a 2 ounce pour of some wine in a plastic cup doesn't match the vibe, and ultimately I booked a king but was given a queen, which didn't really matter to me personally.
