Live Oak Lake

Live Oak Lake is a genuinely pretty place to stay. The cabins are nice, the setting is lovely, and the whole thing is a lot of fun — a little cluster of cabins around a small lake (more of a pond, really, but still scenic). Even with one full glass wall, which felt a bit awkward at first, the cabin stayed surprisingly private despite several other cabins around the water.

A few things held it back. The hot tub was completely unusable — full of fallen tree branches and debris, and it smelled like stagnant fish water. When I reached out about it, no one responded for about three hours, by which point we'd already gone to sleep. There was also a quiet but persistent beeping somewhere in the cabin — muffled, almost every minute, the entire stay, and we never could find the source.

For the price, I expected more. It runs a little pricey for the lack of working amenities and the slow customer service. Bottom line: a beautiful, fun place to stay — just don't count on much help if something goes wrong during your visit.

Of course there were some bugs given that it's by a pond and close to nature but the cabin was equipped with a bug zapper and all. The hot tub had twigs and debri (understandable bcuz it's under a tree) but I hope they maintain the hygiene by treating the water which I wasn't a 100% sure by looking at it.

Cons: $138 cleaning fee but when we arrived it wasn’t very clean, dirty sofa, poo streaks in toilet, pet poo outside of cabin, blankets & towels were stained.

This is a given cause you’re clamping but a ton of spiders and frogs bear the jacuzzi

Paid over $400 for 1 night, definitely not worth it.
