Celebrated a birthday weekend with my mom and dad here, and it was everything you want in a high-end steakhouse. Walking in, the space is absolutely gorgeous — great energy from the start.

Our server Robert made the night. Attentive without ever being intrusive, courteous, and always right on time when we needed something — exactly the kind of service you hope for at this level.

We started with a spread of appetizers: dumplings, shrimp, bacon, and later added onion rings — all excellent. The Wagyu beef dumplings were the clear standout; we shared them around the table and they didn't last long. For mains, we split the filet and the Denver cut Wagyu, both cooked perfectly.

The cocktails and wine list were both excellent, and the overall atmosphere matched the quality of the food and service — polished from start to finish.

    Highly recommend.

My wife surprised me with a dinner at The Butcher's Cellar. Started with a dumpling appetizer and it was fantastic. I had 14oz Australian Wagyu with 10+ BMS (marbeling) and it was great. Literally melted with every bite. Lobster tail was cooked to perfection, had no trouble with the tail meat at all. Broccolini was very tasty and different, also had the mashed potatoes, they were nice and creamy. For dessert we had a brownie sundae, brownie was full of flavor and the ice cream was very rich in vanilla flavor. Whatever chocolate sauce was used was top tier in flavor.

Thank you to our server for recommending our main entrees and being helpful all around.

Went there last night for the first time and we will go back again and again! Had the Bao Buns and the thick slab of bacon for apps. My wife, who never finishes a meal, ate BOTH Bao buns and half of my bacon! It was just too good. We also had the rib eye and miso salmon. Hands down, no doubt, best ribeye I ever had in Texas! My wife LOVED the miso salmon that somehow she ate it all! Had a side of the 1000 layer potatoes and I was in heaven! I will for sure order those every single time. You thought you had potatoes before, no, not till you had these!
For dessert she had the crem Brule and I had the key lime cheesecake. All simply amazing! I also can not praise our server, Robert, enough. He was funny, witty, friendly and knew the menu inside and out. Was able to describe each dishes flavor profile and was spot on with everything he said. He made the experience a, well, experience! Have already decided we are going there for every occasion. Valentines day, birth days, laundry night, trash day... any time I have a reason!

I was taken to Butcher’s Cellar for my birthday, and overall I absolutely loved the experience. We tried a variety of appetizers and sides, and everything we had was amazing. I ordered the pomegranate cocktail, which was really good, and my fiancé enjoyed his old fashioned as well. My only small letdown was my short rib lo mein, it tasted great flavorwise, but the noodles were chewy and hard. I’m being optimistic and chalking it up to an off day, especially since everything else was so good. The layered potatoes, corn ribs, mashed potatoes, and especially the tuna toast were all great dishes. To top it off, I received a complimentary blueberry crème brûlée, which I loved. Aside from the noodle issue, this place would honestly be great even just to go for drinks, sides, and appetizers alone. A wonderful spot for a any occasion!

What a great experience. Most of my favorite food is in NY but who knew they had this gem in TX. Food was top notch. The server explained the chefs were award winning and they definitely showed their skills. Service was next level! 5 stars across the board.

I recently visited Butcher’s Cellar, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting—setting the perfect tone for the evening.

I ordered the 16oz strip steak, medium rare, and it was perfection: juicy, tender, and cooked with precision. The Brussels sprouts were simply to die for—crisp, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. To top it off, I paired the meal with a Pinot Noir Juggernaut, which balanced everything beautifully and made the experience even more memorable.

What made the evening truly exceptional was the service. Our server, Jennifer, was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable, and such a joy to chat with. She elevated the whole evening with her warmth and professionalism.

It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right food, service, wine, and atmosphere but Butcher’s Cellar exceeded every expectation. Without a doubt, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory, and I’m already excited to go back.

Overall the experience was okay, but we spent $300. So okay does not justify the cost. We got the 1000 layer potatoes and bao buns for appetizers, and the bao buns were good, potatoes were bland. Ordered a sushi roll, and by the time we were half way done they finally brought soy sauce out, but the container was empty so had to wait on the new one to be brought out. Main issue was my wife ordered the fillet medium rare, came out well done. She didn’t want to wait on it to be remade, so I shared my ribeye with her. When I brought it to the servers attention, I felt that he was annoyed more than anything. So instead of any effort made by him or the management to make this right, we paid for a $48 steak that was not what we asked for. From there the service went downhill. We will not be eating here again, as the food quality for a steakhouse charging these prices, as well as the overall service experience does not justify the cost.

We booked a 5:15 dinner reservation for a Saturday night - which we were able to secure the same week of, great! This was our first time to dine-in and we were greeted politely and sat right away. The decor is eclectic and I did like it, some pieces on the wall seemed random but I think if it was in the “butcher’s cellar” anything could be down there. We were sat at a table and asked if we could get a booth, the hostess said she would check. She came back and said that unfortunately all tables are booked but next time if we want a booth we should request one in our reservation….. this was strange because does that mean all the booths were spoken for thru reservation? That was not a big deal, just an interesting response. We were greeted by our server casually. We ordered 2 appetizers: the 1000 layer potato - it was good and it’s what you would expect. But not for $17. I think it’s because of the fish roe, which IMO is out of place. The other one was the wagyu boa buns - very good. Our server recommended them when we asked what appetizer must we try. For our mains: my husband ordered a 16 oz ribeye medium rare and crispy frites and I ordered the torched and pressed and the 6 oz filet medium rare. The torched and pressed (sushi) was pretty tasty. It was a fun play on a deconstructed sushi roll. After we ate about half, the server brought out soy sauce and ginger. We wish that would have been brought out at the same time with the dish as the soy sauce’s acidity helped pair with the sweetness, but it was not a dealbreaker. My husbands ribeye was cooked medium rare (leaning more rare in some parts) and my filet was over-cooked (I ordered medium rare and instead it was slightly pink). We told our server “the filet is overcooked and we just wanted you to know”. Our server could have handled the situation better because they said maybe the kitchen mixed up the steaks and also maybe they’ll get it right next time. If this is supposed to be a steak restaurant, you would hope your steak would come out proper. Overall, it was nice to get out of the house for a date, but for the quality of food and service we received for the amount spent, it will be tough to say we will be back. For the 2 of us, it was $300 (including tip).

This place is amazing, our server Brandon was awesome and very attentive. He recommended his own personal desert other wise known as the “BP float” it was the BEST desert my mom and I have had in a long time. Great atmosphere, couldn’t be happier with this place. If you go ask for Brandon and his BP float!!

Wow! We already had high expectations going in since we are big fans of the Head Chefs since their Hell’s Kitchen days and after having an amazing date night last weekend, The Butcher’s Cellar far exceeded those expectations! From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by the most gracious hosts and instantly taken into a beautiful and cozy atmosphere.
The cocktails were delicious. We started with milk bread, shrimp toast, and grilled oysters.
Each dish was fantastic. We wish we could have ordered more but wanted to make room for the main course. We then ordered the Steelhead Trout and Dino Rib, both melting in your mouth with each bite. We ended the night with the Key Lime Crème Brûlée and a bottle of port which was just perfection. We even got to meet Chef Alyssa who is the sweetest and most down to earth person to talk to and is truly gifted in her craft. I am so excited to try their new menu and will be visiting again very soon! This place truly is a gem for the Waco/DFW area.

The service was lacking, and it appeared more staff would help; Our server struggled with her hand-held point of sale device and it was uncomfortable for conversation and a private dining experience. Now for the food - the appetizers were incredible; Although we wanted the signature oysters as recommended by our server, only to be told after we ordered them that they had sold out of oysters the night before our visit; no free bread - but $12 for bread is insane: The food came out one plate at a time.... uggg. Two in our party ordered the Dino Rib ( 2@ $55 ea) and both stated the meat was flavorless and the mashed potatoes seemed over pureed ($13); The side requested was the Triple Cooked Fries w/malt vinegar ($11), however, we were told that this side order sold out the night before///odd???? One had the Steelhead Trout ($43) which had a great miso glaze, but it was served cold; One ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop ($45) - which took some time because of the thickness and cut, so we can only assume that's why the fish was sitting and waiting to be served. Desserts were ordered - one blueberry/lemon tort - dry and day old; one chocolate chip cookie bake which turned out to be the highlight of the evening. All in with cocktails and our party of four, were in and out for $503. With prices like this and boasting hi-end dining experience, the Butcher's Cellar has a few things to work on. Our party agreed we might return for Happy Hour and enjoy the appetizers once more, but as for the entire meal not so much.

Jamii was our server and knocked it out of the park. Her attentiveness was exceptional. My wife said, "I'll be having dreams about the Cheesecake Tart for weeks." I was happy to try and taste the dishes at the establishment. Shout out to Alyssa and Alejandro for bringing top-notch food to Waco/Woodway. We booked a spot around 5 p.m. and loved the space. It was my 40th birthday, and Jamii made it worthwhile. We will be back for sure.

As others have mentioned, too much salt. Went there for the first time and we were excited to try a new option for fine dining. The restaurant decor and set up is inviting when you walk in. The staff and our waitress were all excellent. Sadly the filets we got were so over salted neither of us could finish them. Very disappointing as it seemed like a high quality cut of meat. SO over salted. The sides were good but I didn't understand the point of the corn ribs. They waitress said you eat them like a corn on the cob but there was really no cob to hold onto so I decided I would cut the kernels off the "rib" and that was very difficult as it is just a small sliver of the cob left which is the "rib". I finally gave up on that. Sadly, for the cost of the meal and the saltiness we won't be going back.

Great place to eat! We went there for our Anniversary. The staff was extremely helpful in ordering. I got the lobster rolls to share and the crab cakes. My wife got the trout. All the food was great. They even took our pictures! Will definitely be back to eat.

Excellent eclectic atmosphere, great dishes. Ask for Brandon as server. During slow time he will give you a tour. We enjoyed the lobster pasta entrée and the "Dino Rib". The rib was tender and easy off the bone. The lobster had a mild spiciness. The brussel sprouts were better than Milo's. Wagyu meatballs were good but a little firm. Highly recommend.

The Butcher’s Cellar is a great addition to Waco for fine dining. We were greeted by a very sweet hostess, and taken to our table immediately. Our server was excellent throughout dinner, promptly giving us the extensive wine/ drink menus and answered questions regarding their delectable appetizers. We chose the grilled oysters and they were amazing! For our main course, the filet steaks were prepared and served perfectly. And finally, our 7 layer chocolate cake did not disappoint! The entire experience was exceptional!! We hope to be back soon!

I've never heard of this place before until my aunt messaged me, saying we were having dinner here to celebrate my father and aunt's birthday. The experience was INCREDIBLE.

The sides are family style, meaning they will get passed around, and whenever the food is ready, it immediately comes out, so some items might come out first before other items, but roughly it'll be around the same time.

The atmosphere is also fantastic, with a rustic/modern clash, with glass chandeliers and granite fireplace.

The restrooms are VERY clean, and very decorative with wallpaper of small little animals, and even a crow in front of the Men's Urinal.

Our server, Tyler did a fantastic job with making sure we were taken care of, and answering any questions we had.

I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this restaurant for dinner, either by myself or with family.

What can I say? Everything was perfect. My wife and I had the most wonderful experience at The Butcher’s Cellar last night. Upon entering we were warmly greeted, ushered to our table quickly, and the service all evening was outstanding. I mean the best service we’ve ever had in Waco, period — and we’ve been in Waco for 29 years!

The food? It was unreal. I’ve never felt euphoria while eating a salad … until last night. The salad with the thick cut of bacon was just unreal. And the steak was melt-in-your mouth delicious. Really everything we had was complete culinary perfection.

We’ll be back. We’ll be regulars.

From the moment I stepped through the front doors, I immediately knew how special and unique our evening would be! It was more than I could have imagined from the start. From the beautiful decor, amazing drinks, incredible service, and the "out of this world" food, we couldn't have had a better experience. Our party of 6 shared several dishes and we got to experience quite an assortment of meals, appetizers, and sides. With each bite, we were all in heaven! I even have Celiac Disease and I could enjoy the majority of all of the items on the menu. You will not be disappointed and the Chefs have worked very hard to make a very top notch menu that will be constantly changing! THANK YOU for our wonderful evening!
